Description of service
Heads up display (HUD) was not visible on the windsheild. This is a common problem with the HUD device. It has a spring attached to the dash that breaks through and the mirror that allows the information to be seen on the windshield drops and the device cannot be viewed from the driver seat. The dash and steering wheel must be removed to access the HUD and repair. It is a simple repair but labor intensive due to the removal of the steering wheel and dash.
Review of Service
The service was great. The car was in and the service completed in several hours. Research of the problem was done before the initial visit to the dealership and the information found was consistent with the quote from the service department. The cost was consistent through all sites researched on the internet at the time of service and did not seem prohibitive. The HUD device is a very useful part of the car and the driving experience and well worth repairing. It works as if it never broke.
Tips
If you are able to repair automobiles and have the time it may be worth it to do the job yourself otherwise your local service department can get the job done painlessly for around $200.
