Description of service
My car was making clicking noises when I moved the steering wheel, so I brought it to my local Pontiac dealer to get it checked out. The auto mechanic determined that is was a bearing that was causing the issue. He said the car was unsafe to drive, and that I should leave it overnight in order to get it fixed.
Review of Service
The dealer was not able to offer me a loaner car, even though they kept my car overnight. They said that there were no loaners available. This created a great inconvenience on my part. I had to find a ride back from the dealer (they did not even offer me a ride back to my office). Then I had to find a ride home from work, and find a ride into work the next day, and also a ride back over to the car dealer just to pick up the car. At least the car was done the next day, and I was able to pick it up. When I drove the car it seemed better, but then 6 months later it seemed like the same issue was popping up.
Tips
Always find out if the repairs are absolutely necessary. Also, make sure they can offer you a loaner car for the entiretime they want to keep your car for repairs. The service folks should offer all of this without you having to ask them if they are going to make sure you have a way to get back to work and then home later in the day.
