Description of service
This service was to have my front brake pads, on my Pontiac Grand Am, removed and to have brand new ones put on. The total cost was $85 and that included everything, parts and labor. The brake pads came with a three year warranty that states the brake pads will be replaced free of charge in the next three years, but I would have to pay for labor again, which I believe was $50 of the $85 I paid.
Review of Service
This was a great service. I know I paid a little more than usual, but I did this on the fly and was out of the mechanic's shop in less than an hour. It actually only took about thirty minutes to get my car in, brakes changed and then I was out. The front desk clerk was very nice and accomodating when I told her that I was in a hurry, and the brakes have worked perfectly since they changed them.
Tips
If you have time to wait for your brakes to be done, it is much cheaper at a traditional mechanic's shop, but you could be waiting all day or worse, be put on a waiting list. Call around and see who isn't busy and can get you in and out in a hurry, hopefully cheap.
