Description of service
I noticed that my car was shaking while idling, so I went to the dealership to see what was going on. After putting my car on the diagnostics tool, he told me that I needed new engine mounts. Also that this was going to cost 600 dollars to get it fixed. He said that the diagnostic test was 75 dollars and that if I got my work done at the dealership, then the test would be free. I am a student at the university here, and I actually live 3 1/2 hours away so I didn't have time to take it back home to my regular mechanic.
Review of Service
I don't like the quality of the service that I received. After receiving the new engine mounts my car still shakes, so obviously engine mounts wasn't the problem. I came in again for something completely different about two months ago, and he told me the exact same thing he said a year ago; that I needed new engine mounts. So I now think that the whole experience wasn't worth it, and am consequently very disappointed.
Tips
What I would suggest for those who are having a similar problem is to take your car to a dealership where you live solely to get a diagnostic, pay for the test, then take your car to a reliable local mechanic to get the work done. This way, not only will you save money, but you will still get good quality work done.
