Description of service
Paid for 1.5 hours labor, at 65 dollars an hour for the head mechanic to diagnose and 40 an hour for the technician to install the new part. The new timing chip was the bulk of the price. I asked for it to be repaired overnight, causing the expense of the part to go up (availability constraints).
Review of Service
Service was quick and efficient. I have never had such good luck at an auto shop. They narrowed the problem down to just a few possibilities very quickly, only running the diagnostics to confirm their guesses. The labor was not incredibly expensive, considering other services I have had to pay for. The workers were extremely knowledgeable about the problem. I asked many questions and even asked them to show me what they fixed. After a satisfying explanation I was more than happy to pay the cost.
Tips
A good mechanic is a hard person to find. I found those who completed my work for me by asking around. I have a friend who said these men were trustworthy and not overpriced, and that was enough to convince me to go check them out. Word of mouth is often the best advertisement for services such as this hole in the wall shop, so these workers did a top notch job.
