Description of service
At the start of every spring I take my car in for a tune up to prevent any major repairs from happening. I get the spark plugs replaced, the transmission flushed, the thermostat is replaced and an all points system check is done. They also check the tires, change the oil and do all the small stuff that needs to be done. The total cost this spring was $150, but that price varies per year and can cost differently depending on where I go.
Review of Service
I know this is all stuff I can do, but I feel safer getting a registered auto mechanic to look at it to make sure that everything is okay. Ever since I started this procedure it has prevented a ton of problems from happening. They also clean my car by giving it a good vacuum and they wash the windows inside and out. It took them about and hour and a half and that was it.
Tips
A lot of the stuff that was done, was easy mind numbing stuff. So if you're good at mechanics you can save money by doing it yourself. If you don't want to, or don't know how to, call around to different mechanics in your area to see who can do it the the cheapest for you.
