Description of service
85 dollars of the cost was for running a diagnostic on my car, and the rest was for parts and labor to replace my oxygen sensor. I went in not sure what was wrong with the car, because my "service engine soon" light was on.
Review of Service
Great service -- they gave me a ride home, gave me a ride back to my car the next day, and were up front with me at each step regarding how much things would cost. They told me when I brought my car in that it would be $85 for the diagnostic, and I asked them to please call me before making repairs once they found out what was wrong. They said this was their standard operating procedure. Some places are not scrupulous about calling you before starting in on repairs, so this was nice to hear. They were very quick to update me about what was going on with my car. Service for dropping me home after leaving my car there, and picking me up to take me back the next day, was cheerful and quick.
Tips
Definitely work with an independent shop if you can; they tend to provide more personal service than chains. Also be clear that you want to authorize work done on your car, just in case it's not that shop's policy.
