Description of service
The Camry was brought into a local shop for a fifteen thousand mile checkup and tuning. Oil was changed, filter was changed and the tires rotated. A formal inspection of engine compartment accompanied the services. The car was washed and vacuumed. While the car was in the shop I had the navigation system updated with a new map package.
Review of Service
All service was done to specification. The local dealer picked up the car at my place of business. They drove approximately 10 miles to do that. The dropped off a loaner vehicle. I had noticed that the car was pulling slightly to the right when breaking. The dealer checked both the breaks and rotors. The dealer notified me that the tires would have to be changed to meet next inspection. They also mentioned that at next inspection I would be due for new brake pads. Of course I appreciated this because I could budget the $400 for tires and the $200 for a brake job.
Tips
Regardless of what most people think about dealer service I've always been happy with Toyota service. They often check on elements that will cause problems in the future. Of course that's good business for them; but I rarely get surprised when a wear/tear item is due to be replaced. So my tip is use a reputable dealer for service.
