Description of service
This was a preventative maintenance service that is supposed to be performed every 80,000 miles, according to the dealer. It involves leaving your car for a few hours, depending on how many other vehicles they also are servicing. The $130 cost breaks down into $65 for the parts/supplies and $65 for the labor.
Review of Service
This was a relatively painless procedure. I had not had any problems with the car, it was simply to keep problems from occuring. Since a transmission flush is much cheaper than having to replace a transmission, I felt it was decidedly worth it. Plus, at 80,000 miles being the timing on having this done, I have a few more years before I will have to have this done again.
Tips
Make sure you either use a dealer or someone that is certified and will stand behind their service work. I have heard many horror stories of a company having a better price but they didn't perform a good job, thus costing the customers much more in the long run. You will either have to wait on your vehicle or arrange other transportation while it is being serviced. Yes, it is a minor inconvenience but it's worth it to not have to replace a part because you did not service it.
