Description of service
We were advised our 1998 Toyota RAV 4 had to have the front shocks and struts replaced in order to pass inspection. We were told the struts were leaking and the shocks were bad and had to be replaced. We were provided an estimate of $700.00 before we authorized the job. We were told it would be done in about 4 hours and it was.
Review of Service
The cost of the repair was within 5% of the estimate we were provided, so we were comfortable with that. The vehicle was ready when the said it would be, so that was another plus. Also, when we drove it home we immediately noticed a difference in the ride, alot smoother and not a bouncy. Overall, we were happy with the service. We feel we slightly overpaid but needed the vehicle to pass inspection.
Tips
The company had rejected our inspection sticker, which meant we had 10 days to repair the vehicle and get a valid inspection sticker. Not being knowledgeable of the problem with the shocks and struts, we felt we were spending money in the blind but had to get the vehicle to pass inspection. After doing some review about the service we received and the price we paid it was a little high, about 5% based on the local repair market.
