Description of service
Due to negligence on my part, a hologen light that was turned on was left face down on my front passenger seat. As a result of this, a burn hole, approximately 1/4 inch deep and the size of a CD was made in the seat. In order to repair it, the company needed to remove the passenger seat, re-upholster it with the matching fabric, and re-install the seat.
Review of Service
I have to say, the service I received at this shop was among the worst that I have ever received. Due to the specialized nature of my problem, I did not use my regular garage, and instead used an automotive re-upholstery specialist. While the work was completed on time, they made an error during the re-installation of the seat which resulted in a sensor being misaligned, which resulted in the airbag light being on. I notified them of this when I picked up the car, and they said that sometimes it got tripped, that this happens sometimes, but everything was ok, and there was nothing they could do, that I would have to go to my garage to get the light reset. They refused to repair it there saying that they were not negligent. Upon taking it to my garage, they attempted to reset the light, and it cam on again, and upon further inspection they discovered that the seat was improperly reinstalled. My own garage fixed the issue, and I had to do a stop payment with my credit card company to recoup the funds.
Tips
If you are not going to a garage that you have a good working relationship with, especially for an unusual service, be sure to ask them what consequences there could be from the work, and how they would remedy them.
