Description of service
I had axle realignment done on the two rear axles of my car. About 95% of the 129 was labor and time and %5 percent of that price was for parts.
The realignment that I had done was a maintenance service that helps keep the car in balance and prevents one axle having to work harder than the others. Well that is the way that it was explained to me at least.
Review of Service
Anyway this service was kind of sprung on me without warning. I had taken it in for a routine oil change and they let me know that I also needed a rear axle realignment. The service tech told me that if I didn't have this service done soon that more serious and costly brake system problems could arise. I honestly think he could have taken advantage of my minimal knowledge of cars because as far as I was concerned, this sounded plausible. I was hesitant to have this done but the tech made it sound that it was an urgent issue that needed attention as soon as possible. This could have very well been true, but I was discouraged from looking at what he said was the issue. And to be honest, I'm almost sure this service was not worth the money I was charged.
Tips
I would seriously suggest never getting a pricey service done on a whim. Always give yourself time to do your homework to determine if you need it in the first place or if you need it at the time it is suggested to your by your service person.
