Description of service
I brought my 2001 Toyota Solara into a dealer to replace the brakes. I normally would not have gone to the dealer for such a common problem, but the car is getting older, the mileage is getting up there and I thought they should take a look at the car as a whole. My chief complaint was the squeaking noise my brakes made every time I pressed on the pedal. The technician spent the better part of a day with my car. I was prepared to spend at least four hundred dollars to replace the front and back brakes and other various parts I did not think of such as belts.
Review of Service
The diagnostic check did take a while, but man was it worth it! When he had finished I spent only thirty seven dollars! I only needed an adjustment on my brakes. He could have replaced them, at a much higher cost to me, as I had requested. But, instead he informed me that there was a much less expensive solution to my problem.
Tips
I was new to the area and had not yet found a mechanic. A trusted friend directed me to this establishment. If you find yourself looking for a place to go ask someone you trust for a referral. Then ask the mechanic or technician about possible cost saving adjustments instead of replacing perfectly fine parts.
