Description of service
My 2004 Toyota Corolla has 93,000 miles on it and the brakes were screeching so often and so loudly, that I was actually embarrassed to have to use them. A quick trip to the mechanic reaffirmed my fears......my brakes needed work, and quickly. The $185 was the cost to replace both front brake pads. Luckily, my rotors didn't need turning or replacing. My back brakes were drum style, and haven't been replaced yet.
Review of Service
The service was quick. What I really appreciated was the fact that the mechanic showed me how the brakes looked and then showed me the new pads. I was astonished at how bad I had allowed mine to get, but was thankful that the originals were obviously very high quality. I went during an otherwise slow day, so I'm sure that more attention than usual was given to me and my car, but I will definitely be more diligent about keeping my maintenance up on my car in the future. I had always been told foreign cars were expensive to repair or maintain, but so far that has not been the case with my Toyota.
Tips
Call around and ask for price quotes but be aware that they will likely have to take your wheel off before they can give an accurate estimate in price.
