Description of service
This $122 was for maintenance work. I had not had any problems with my car, but I knew that with 78,000 miles on my vehicle, the plugs and wires needed to be checked. When I left the car I told them that I'd had the vehicle for right at a year and had no idea when or if the plugs and wires had ever been replaced. They called me back and said the wires were fine, but the spark plugs had to be replaced. Of this $122, $62 was for the spark plugs themselves and $60 was the charge for labor.
Review of Service
The service I received was wonderful. I honestly expected them to call and tell me that both the plugs and wires had to be replaced, just so they could get the extra money. I was happily surprised to be wrong.
Tips
If you know you are going to have to be without a vehicle anyway (whether maintenance or repairs), why not go ahead and get everything else that could soon become a concern looked at? Instead of suffering over a period of several different days without a car, just be without it for a day and be done with it! You might also luck out into the dealership/repairman giving you a discount.
