Description of service
Starter was replaced. The mechanic does just about everything from brakes to tune-ups to replacing bad parts. They also do consultations, give estimates, as well as diagnostics.
Review of Service
The service was great! A little more expensive than we wanted to pay--the starter was only a small part of the $200, most of the cost was labor. The shop had the starter replaced in about two hours while we waited, which was nice because we didn't want to have our truck disabled for too long (we were in the process of moving--great timing!). They were efficient and friendly, and didn't try to charge us for any unnecessary parts or labor. They were quick and sympathetic to our needs. The truck has run great ever since then with no other issues.
Tips
See if you can find parts at an auto parts store yoruself, and ask friends if anybody they know can fix a starter. From what I understand, it is not too difficult a fix, but it can become costly to go to a mechanic. The only reason my husband didn't do it himself is his tools were packed up because of the move. The starters are pretty cheap, for the most part. If you don't have somebody who can replace it for you, call a mechanic. Get the best price you can, and be sure it is really the starter that is having issues, and not some other part.
