Description of service
Back in February of this year my Ford Windstar Mini Van broke down while I was driving it. I was kind of shocked when it happened because all of the dials (speedometer, amp, gas, and heat indicator) started flipping up and down, from E to F really quickly. Then the van died out. I took it to the mechanic and they told me the alternator had gone out, and would be about $300 to replace it. After about 6 hours of work the total cost was actually $326.
Review of Service
The service was fine. My van is now up and running with no problems again. The people that work at the mechanic's shop were very nice to me and explained everything in great detail. One thing I was scared of was getting my van back filthy, but they did a good job at keeping every thing clean and grease free. I would say that I would recommend this mechanic to a friend, and I will return if I ever need work on my vehicle.
Tips
Shop around to different mechanic's shops and also try the dealership. The mechanic at the dealership is going to charge a lot more than an independent mechanic, but the quality is also going to be much greater. You can also reach out to friends and family for referrals.
