Description of service
Earlier this year my car started making a squeaking noise whenever the brakes were pushed, so I took it into a local mechanic's shop to have it looked at. Turned out that only the front brake pads needed to be replaced. I dropped my car off in the morning, and picked it up that afternoon. The total cost was $95.00 which included parts and labor. They even guarantee the pads for 12 months.
Review of Service
The service was great. I understand that changing the brake pads is something just about anyone can do, but I like the security of having someone who knows what they are doing fix my car, especially the brakes. The people at the shop are nice, and friendly which is hard to find in auto shops, and it was fixed quickly, so I couldn't really ask for more.
Tips
Call around to different shops to get prices. Going to the dealership is usually the most expensive option, but if you have a newer car it is probably best to go there. You can also check with friends and family, everyone has that uncle or cousin who is good at fixing cars. Make sure that whoever you go to is well qualified to repair cars, especially with brakes.
