Description of service
We drove to Alaska pulling a 5th wheel trailer and started to have problems with our brakes. We stopped at a Ford dealer in Anchorage and after they inspected the truck informed us we needed to replace the rear braking system. The price of $842 was for labor and parts.
Review of Service
The service was good although slow. They were busy and the person working on our truck was relatively new to the facility. He seemed to take longer than estimated to complete the job. The good part was that we were in a campground only a short distance from the dealership. The facility was clean and the staff of writers were knowledgable and polite. I feel that someone, perhaps the shop manager, might have kept a closer watch on the work being performed and the time required.
The work was completed about a day late and the price was adjusted down by $100.
Tips
When a problem occurs away from home, you usually can't "shop around" for a repair facility. Go to reputalbe place and make sure they understand the problem. Get an estimate before they work on anything. Don't be afraid to ask for a progress report and be sure that you understand why and what they intend to fix on your vehicle.
