Description of service
Our nearly two year old dishwasher stopped working right, so we called the local repairman. He scheduled an appointment to come out and take a look at it a few days later. It was a house call, and at that point, we did not know if it would be a problem that was covered under the two year warranty. The repairman put our dishwasher through the paces and pressed some kind of a reset button. After that, he checked a few other things and saw that our dishwasher was functioning properly.
Review of Service
Apparently something had gotten out of whack and the heat got too high inside the dishwasher, causing an automatic shut off to occur. This is "normal" procedure for our dishwasher. Had we known this, we could have followed the instructions in the installation information and reset the thing ourselves. The great thing is, we know what to do if this happens again. The bad thing is, we had to pay for a house call. The whole process took about an hour, and everything is running along as it should now - months later. File the information under, "good to know."
Tips
Read all of your trouble shooting materials prior to calling the repair man. You may have a simple problem that you can fix or reset yourself. Keep all of your installation materials and the model number handy, so when you do have to call, you have the pertinent information at your finger tips.
