Description of service
My dishwasher has sprung a leak last year which started giving nightmares to me so i quickly started looking for a solution. Firstly i read the manual and thought of fixing it myself but then i preferred calling a mechanic. My door was leaking and it was the seal that needs repairing. The water was leaking from the length of this soaking seal. Mechanic fixed the problem with the dishwasher and changed the damaged part of the seal also fixing the bottom of the washer. $80 includes $35 new seal and rest repairing and fixing charges.
Review of Service
It was a big relief after the dishwasher got repaired and all the nightmares are gone and touch wood the machine has been running smoothly since that day last year. Calling the company mechanic is expensive but it guarantees proper and complete solution for the machine. They were quick to respond and i have no complains against them i am pretty satisfied with their work and think the money spent is worth the work.
Tips
Some of the tips i have learned from the experience.
1.Don't overfill the dishwasher. Water can't drain properly when the dishwasher is too full.
2.Don't use soap made for handwashing dishes. They encourage foaming which causes leaks.
and some more tips on trying out to fix the leak before calling the mechanic
1. First of all make sure that the dishwasher is standing on level floor.
2. Faulty door seal can cause leaking. Try tightening the screws that hold the seal to the door panel. If this doesn't work, then don't try and adjust the seal as it may damage it .
3. Check for leaks around the water-inlet valve as well as around the kitchen sink drain connection.
