Description of service
I had a dishwasher that was only a few years old but somehow a glass had broken on the inside and became wedged in some part of the motor system. It had stopped working properly as when it was turned on all that would happen is water would swish around a bit but the wand could not spin correctly. Of course I had to have this issue solved as it would not clean anything. In fact it dried on some very difficult to clean food before I realized the problem.
Review of Service
The price I paid was simply an estimate. The motor was not burned out but there was a problem with a seal in the area as well so they had to wait a day to get the correct part. If I would have caught the issue sooner I may have simply been able to remove the broken pieces myself but my model was able to hide this problem from me. The business I took it too was quite small but seemed to do a good amount of work on dishwashers.
Tips
Always make sure there is nothing loose on the bottom of your dishwasher as I was told that forks, bones from earlier meals and broken glass can become lodged in the motor area and can sometimes ruin the motor which would have been cheaper simply to buy a new dishwasher. Also check to see if the place you purchased it from will offer any service on your unit before taking it to a repairman.
