Description of service
We called the repairman to come out to our house because our dishwasher wasn't working right. It wasn't changing from cycle to cycle and then it would turn off with the clean dishes light on. It was very frustrating. We thought the service would be under warranty, but it turned out it was not. The repairman checked our dishwasher out, and tried to run it through the cycles. He saw that it was doing what we said, so He pulled it out and
determined that it was a computer part that needed replacing. Since this was not under warranty, he suggested that a new dishwasher was the more economical way to go.
Review of Service
We felt that the repairman did his job. He was efficient and fast with what he did. However we were not happy with the determination that the part was not under warranty. In fact, when we called, we made sure it was still in the warranty period before scheduling an appointment. So basically we paid for the repairman to come out an tell us that our dishwasher is broken and it would be best to buy another one. That was what we were trying to avoid - paying the extra repair cost and still buying a new dishwasher. Our calls to rectify the situation resulted in our paying half the house call fee.
Tips
When you call the repair company, try to talk to a repairman and ask a lot of questions. They can probably give you an educated guess as to what the problem is and how much it will cost to repair. This can save you the cost of a house call.
