Description of service
Appliance repair usually involves a house call from a trained technician. We made the call when our dishwasher quit very suddenly and they sent someone out within a couple of days for a diagnostic appointment. They did not promise to fix the dishwasher at that time, but suggested it would take two visits most likely. In fact, it ended up to be a problem the repairman was able to fix on the first visit. He was in our home for about an hour, start to finish and it seemed to be a simple reset of the computer controls that fixed the problem.
Review of Service
The scheduler could have been more friendly, she did not seem to have any people skills for that type of job. She did give out correct information, and helped us keep our hopes down that the dishwasher could even be fixed for less than the cost of a brand new dishwasher. Maybe that is because the repairman is employed by the store where we bought the dishwasher. In the end we were pleased with the outcome. It was an expensive way to push a few buttons to reset the computer. However, it was much cheaper and less stressful than buying a new dishwasher. The alternative of hand washing dishes is not to be contemplated, so this worked out great for us.
Tips
Find out what the house call will cost you before they schedule it. Make sure you know what will be included (parts, labor, diagnostics etc.) That way you know if you are being treated right.
