the Price of Dishwasher Repair

My dishwasher would not start, so I called a local appliance repair place. They sent a technician out who diagnosed the problem as a short in the electrical line. He fixed it while he was there on that same visit.

The service was good. The technician was prompt and professional. He called before leaving to make sure that someone was home. Once there, the diagnosis and repair took him a little over two hours. He cleaned up after himself as well, and moved the furniture that needed to be moved. Overall I was pleased. My only complaint is that it was fairly expensive. The fee for the technician to just come out and look at the problem was $65. But this was a problem that I knew I could not fix myself.

In hindsight I should have called a few other places to check what they charged, but it was far easier to have the tech who was already there repair the problem. Make sure that the technician is bonded and licensed! Additionally ask for recommendations from friends, neighbors, and family. Sometimes they will have a reliable serviceperson already in their phone book and will be happy to give you their number.
