Description of service
The service I received consisted of body work, paint, and detailing. First of all, since my car was rear ended, the structural support beams underneath the car were slightly bent. Since the first estimate of damage did not include this, and adjustment was made to the price of the damage. That was fixed along with the rear left and right body panels, bumper, and the trunk lid were replaced. Once everything was fixed, a new coat of paint was applied to the rear of the car and details, such as running stripes, were applied.
The cost of the materials ended up being about a half to maybe two thirds of the total bill. The bumper and its reinforcement, along with the rear end structural supports, made up the majority of the part’s cost. As for labor, the most expensive part was for paint. Painting labor was estimated at over forty dollars per hour. Secondly the manual labor of the actually replacement of parts was also expensive.
Review of Service
I was very impressed with the quality of service I received. Everything from the moment I had it looked at to dropping it off and picking it up, was impressive. When I brought it in for the first time, they immediately looked at it and noticed it would be more expensive and take more time to fix than what the insurance company had estimated. The adjustment was made directly from the auto body shop to the insurance company and I had to do nothing. I had to move up my appointment because I had to take a trip to Florida and they complied with no problem to move my appointment up a week. I honestly have no complaints about the service. It was everything I expected and more. In fact, when they returned the car to me, it had been waxed and shined. The service was definitely worth the price. Everything looks brand new.
Tips
This was my first time being in an accident, having to deal with insurance, and getting a car fixed. I think it is important for anyone in my situation to remain calm and not to be afraid to ask question as to what you should be doing. Hopefully the insurance company is cooperative in walking you through the process.
