My car had been party to a small accident. Although the effects of that accident were not evident at that time, i later discovered that there was some problem with the axle and this was an after effect of that very accident. Although the cost of the axle was much higher, i managed to get it for just $200, and that was including the cost of labor.

I was extremely satisfied with the service. I had taken my car to a mechanic who had been associated with me for more than five years. He suggested that instead of going in for a new axle, that would cost a lot, i should go in for a second hand repaired one as it would be much cheaper. He could easily get me such an axle and guaranteed that it would give no problems whatsoever for at least three years. I took his advice and for the past one year, i have not got any problems.

If cost is a major factor, get an idea about the repair costs from at least two places, one local garage and one form an authorized service center, and decide accordingly. The garage would provide to be much cheaper, as was in my case.
