Description of service
Went to service provider as vehicle had several problems. Steering was hanging up, there was a knock in the engine and the transmission was slipping. The only service I actually received was the replacement of belts that were causing the steering to hang up. Service provider, after doing a short diagnostics, refused to address other issues. Most of the price of this service was for the diagnostics, while the actual price for the belts was $79.00 and labor to replace belts was $40.00.
Review of Service
I was extremely dissatisfied when I left this service provider. I intentionally chose a well known provider to address the issues that my vehicle was facing, as I am a woman with many years of experience in dealing with automobile mechanics. I felt that this service provider took advantage of a situation to not only not fix the most pressing of the issues, but to charge me outrageously for doing the diagnostics. I felt that I was grossly over charged and did not feel that I got anything for my money. The steering issue was resolved to my satisfaction, however, for the amount I was charged, I would have waited and had my husband do the work.
Tips
I would suggest making several phone calls to area mechanics and stating exactly what your issues are, then ask the service provider if they are willing to address these issues and whether or not there will be a diagnostic charge if the services are not rendered.
