Description of service
I attended a pilates class for a membership fee of 38 dollars per month. It included a beginners class on Monday and Wednesday mornings, a intermediate class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and an advanced class on Friday evenings. Each class was on hour long and included a warm up and a cool down.
Review of Service
I found 38 dollars to be a good price, especially when it seemed that other businesses were charging about 50 dollars.
The instructor of the pilates class was not a certified trainer, but she definitely knew her pilates and was continually researching new moves to bring to class. This helped keep the classes fresh and fight off the boredom. The instructor also gave alternatives to the harder moves so that if one member found it impossible to do, there was a simpler move for them that was almost as effective. The area reserved for the pilates class was very spacious and there was enough room for everyone. The facilities were also clean and the showers were well taken care of.
Tips
Make sure that you find a class where you will not be doing the same thing every day. It causes you to become bored and then you will not look forward to the workout, making missing a class all the more likely.
Make sure your instructor understands pilates well enough that she will be able to instruct you properly so that you are not injured during the class.
