Description of service
This was a basic, introductory level set of Pilates classes taught by a teacher who was a professional Personal Trainer and was certified to teach Pilates. The classes lasted for 6 weeks, meeting an hour each week. Classes were held at night, after 6:00 p.m. The class size was limited to fifteen students. Classes took place in a studio designed specifically for Pilates learning and training. The teacher provided individual attention during class and was very attentive to students who were not in proper form during the exercises. The studio where the classes were held were conveniently located, near suburbs and local shopping centers. Payment for the classes was collected at registration for the series of classes. Credit cards, cash and check were accepted for payment.
Review of Service
The teacher was highly competent in her knowledge of and instruction about Pilates. She provided very careful and detailed instructions to the students. At all times, she remained alert to students' form and gently and respectfully instructed students on how to correct their form so as to avoid injury or pain. Additionally, the teacher provided helpful information concerning materials students could read in order to better understand the philosophy and science behind Pilates. For the price, and the competency of the teacher, this seemed to be a bargain!
Tips
Alert a teacher to any physical injuries you are currently managing or have managed in the past. Although, to you, your injuries may not seem significant, Pilates can aggravate past injuries and delay healing of present physical concerns.
