Description of service
A local gym in the area lets us attend Pilates classes for $15 per class. Each class is 50-minutes long. There is one instructor, and class size averages around 25 students. The instructor moves around the class throughout to watch and assist everyone.
Review of Service
The instructor was quite good. She helped both the advanced Pilates students and the beginner students (such as myself). It was well worth the $15 fee for the class, and I plan to be back. The best part was that no reservations were required. You could simply show up at each class and pay the $15 fee at the front desk to attend.
Tips
I would recommend looking for an instructor with a fairly full class in terms of number of students. Those tend to be the more successful instructors. I would also suggest talking to the instructor prior to class to introduce yourself so that she knows you are new to Pilates. She should be able to adapt the class for you as a result.
You may also want to find out if a Pilates mat is required, or whether it is provided by the school. You can buy a Pilates mat for around $30-40 at most stores. If the school provides it for free, that saves you a bit of money.
