the Price of Pilates Classes

One month of instuction with classes given 2-3 times daily. The classes lasted 1 hour each with a Pilates Instructor at a studio. You went to as many or as few as you wanted for the monthly fee.

LOVED this!!!! I had always been a just get a tape or a DVD and stick it in the tv kind girl. I can exercise at home anytime I want. No travel time, not special clothes, no stand locker rooms, etc. I was WRONG. Yes, you can get a DVD and do Pilates at home. The only problem is the instrutor cannot come out of the TV and tell you when you are doing things right and wrong. There is not real positive feedback for achievments. You just get the same canned "Your doing great!!! Keep it up" from the TV. With an instructor they tell you, hey that is not working, try this. Wow that is better this week. The other thing I was amazed by is the peace that comes from a class. I have small kids. To go to the studio and have no phones, no kids, no "Honey, do you know where I put my...?" interuptions was amazing. Also the set lessons made me comit to doing it.

Find an instuctor you like and relate to. I had one lady I adore and with her I was so relaxed and engergized once I finshed class. Another instrutor made me want to scream at her and go chock her with her non stop cheerleader chatter. Find someone that you enjoy spending class time with.
