Description of service
I pay $41 a month for Pilates classes. This is for an unlimited number of classes a month. However, there are only 3 classes offered a week so esentially it is a maximum of 3/wk, or 12 classes per month. This price includes use of the gym, exercise mats, exercise balance balls, ball platforms, resistance bands, and the instruction and attention of a certified instructor. This pilates class does not use other pilates machines or equipment.
Review of Service
I feel that I get a high quality of service for the money paid. For the number of classes I attend, it totals approximately $3.50 per class, which is a great value. The equipment is good and functional but basic, no fancy pilates machines are available. The teacher's instruction is excellent, she is a certified Pilates instructor and is required to take a certain number of continuing education credits in order to stay certified. She gives a lot of individual attention and is very encouraging.
Tips
Most gyms and pilates studios will allow you to visit and try the classes for free or for a nominal fee. I would do this before selecting a gym or studio and investing a lot of money in enrollment or signing up for a longer term membership. Different teachers have different styles, and you should find one that works for you. Make sure that your teacher pays personal attention to you and helps you wih your form during exercises. It is vital in pilates to use the proper form in your movements to get the maximum benefit and also not injure yourself.
